Senior Participates in Summer Photo Program

Maddie Vitanza '09 will be participating in the 2009 Photo Focus workshop this summer. Claire Lerner, Upper School photography teacher, said, "It will give Maddie an opportunity to combine her two passions - photography and science."

During the five-week program, students create a photographic book documenting the natural beauty of the Elkhorn Slough, a natural wetland and estuary, and the people who work to preserve and to protect it. They work with local professional photographers as well as scientists conducting studies within the wetland.

Photo Focus is a free summer photographic program for Monterey County high school students through the Center for Photographic Art.
