Debra Baker, religion teacher, was awarded the Sister Carlotta Distinguished Service Award on May 19, 2009. In a ceremony in the Rosary Chapel, Sister Claire spoke about her many accomplishments, including heading the Peace and Justice club, R4, and the Environmental Task Force Committee.
"In keeping with Santa Catalina's mission, Debra devotes her efforts to the education of young women who will care for the planet, address the circumstances of those suffering injustice, and bring a sense of the spiritual to their immediate surroundings," Sister Claire stated.
Mrs. Baker joined the Upper School faculty in 1995. She is married with two daughters, and holds a Masters of Divinity degree from San Francisco Theological Seminary. Congratulations!
