Academics at Santa Catalina SchoolAt Santa Catalina, we offer a well-designed and rigorously taught curriculum that trains students to think critically, to speak and write clearly and powerfully, and to bring their growing knowledge and skills to bear on problem solving across all disciplines. Our students benefit from a structured educational experience that combines the best from the classical liberal arts curriculum with the most modern educational technology and methods.Students and teachers meet in seminar-sized classes to engage in exciting and free-ranging discussions. Whatever the discipline, the process of becoming educated includes not only the mastery of highly demanding subject matter but also the ability to communicate effectively about its content. While girls come to Santa Catalina to prepare to attend the best colleges and universities in the country, we do not define the scope of our academic program so narrowly that no room is left for larger, more important goals. It is our belief that a Santa Catalina education, fully embraced and diligently pursued, will prepare a young woman for the totality of her life. She is equipped with both the intellectual tools and the individual desire to pursue lifelong learning. Morally grounded in a deep sense of responsibility to herself and to others, she leaves Santa Catalina committed to sharing her knowledge and talents for the benefit of her community and the world.
