Director of College Counseling
Santa Catalina Upper School seeks an experienced, highly creative college counseling professional to provide leadership and innovation in Upper School college counseling. The successful candidate will have demonstrated commitment to the education of young women and the ability to coordinate a program that will effectively counsel motivated students and their families. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in the college admissions process, either in selective college admission, college counseling, or both.

Dean of Studies Santa Catalina Upper School seeks an experienced administrator to provide outstanding leadership in the areas of teaching and learning as our Dean of Studies. Santa Catalina’s aim is to teach young women to be leaders in the world. The Dean of Studies leads the school’s efforts to offer a vigorous interdisciplinary curricular and co-curricular college preparatory program that also facilitates this educational objective. The Dean of Studies reports to the Head of Upper School and collaborates with other members of the Upper Administrative Team on the implementation of Santa Catalina’s academic vision. As the facilitator of best teaching practices in all disciplines, the Dean collaborates with the leadership of the school to build an integrated academic and co-curricular program for the 21st century. The Dean also collaborates with the Director of College Counseling to ensure that the curriculum responds to the changing landscape of college admissions and prepares girls to meet or exceed college admission requirements. The Dean of Studies serves as a resource to classroom teachers as well and works with other administrators and parents to support students of strong intellectual ability, high academic potential, and personal learning styles. Preferred qualifications for this position include at least five years of administrative experience, knowledge of learning theory, brain research, and academic support issues. The Dean of Studies must possess strong communication skills and a willingness to work collaboratively with students, teachers, parents, and other administrators. An advanced degree in a relevant field is preferred. Experience at a boarding or a girls school is a plus. Founded in 1950, Santa Catalina Upper School is an independent, Catholic, college preparatory school for 111 resident and 126 day girls in Grades 9-12 with an outstanding educational and residential program. Our graduates enroll at the top selective colleges and universities.
