The Annual FundHow does it work? As is true at most independent schools, tuition income does not fully cover the cost of educating our students. That's why each year independent schools such as Santa Catalina rely upon the generosity of the entire school community - alumnae/i, parents, parents of alumnae/i, and friends - to support an Annual Fund drive. Your tax-deductible gifts to the Annual Fund support every program, faculty member and student at school. The Annual Fund is an essential revenue source for the school's annual operating budget; your gifts to the fund go to work immediately, and the impact of these contributions extends to every corner of the campus. What does it support? Your participation in the Annual Fund enables Santa Catalina to: . attract and retain exceptional faculty . maintain small classes . offer professional growth opportunities . provide enhanced programs that keep pace with evolving needs including academics, the arts, technology, athletics, and library resources . achieve and maintain a strong financial aid program that ensures opportunity for as many qualified and deserving students as possible. How much difference can my gift make? Every gift is important. Broad-based participation, combined with leadership levels of support from certain individuals and foundations, ensures that we will meet our financial goals and demonstrates that the objectives of school are worthy and widely supported. Furthermore, grant requests to foundations are favorably reviewed when broad-based participation is shown. What is the timeframe for the Annual Fund? Contributions to the Annual Fund received between July 1 and June 30, Santa Catalina School's fiscal year, are counted toward the Annual Fund goal and are also expensed during that period. |
