Application Process

Pre-Kindergarten

The Pre-Kindergarten program accepts children who will celebrate their fourth birthday on or before July 1 of their enrollment year. The admission process includes:

  • Interview and campus tour
  • Application completed and returned before February 1 with admission fee ($50 per child)
  • Classroom visit
  • Pre-Kindergarten Screening

Kindergarten

The Kindergarten program admits students who celebrate their fifth birthday on or before July 1 of their enrollment year The admission process includes:

  • Interview and campus tour
  • Application completed and returned before February 1 with admission fee ($50 per child)
  • Kindergarten Screening

Grades 1 to 4

The admission process for Grades 1-4 includes:

  • Interview and campus tour
  • Application completed and returned before February 1 with admission fee ($50 per child)
  • Transcripts and teacher recommendations
  • Classroom visit to child’s current grade
  • Admission test in February

Grades 5 to 8

The admission process for Grades 5-8 includes the following steps:

  • Interview and campus tour
  • Application completed and returned before February 1 with admission fee ($50 per child)
  • Transcripts and teacher recommendations
  • Writing sample
  • Classroom visit to child’s current grade
  • Admission test in February

Timeline

September-January

  • Contact the Admission Office at 831.655.9351 to receive a brochure and arrange an interview and campus tour.
  • Attend an Open House event.
  • Complete and return the enrollment application with application fee ($50 per child).
  • Schedule admission testing.

January-February

  • Schedule classroom visit. This is an opportunity for your child to experience a "typical" day at Santa Catalina.
  • If applicable, confirm a screening reservation.
  • Complete admission testing.

All application materials are due by February 1. Admission notification will be mailed on March 10. Applications received after the February 1 are subject to space availability.
