Private Music Lesson Recital
The private music lesson recital will be held tomorrow — Thursday, May 23 — at 3:45 p.m. in the Mary Johnson Recital Hall. Students in Kindergarten though Grade 8 will share their talents. The show will feature piano, voice, flute, violin, cello and guitar solos, duets, and ensembles. After the performances, we will have refreshments for all.

Viewing the World with a Poet's Eye
In the past few months, Grade 2 has been busy living the lives of poets, and recently, the students shared some original poems in Assembly.

Middle School Dance
Grade ___ is sponsoring a Middle School dance on Friday, May 31 from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Middle School faculty members will serve as chaperones, and we encourage all Middle School students to attend. More information is forthcoming. Parents, we ask that students arrive at the dance no later than 7:30 p.m. and that you promptly pick them up at 9:30 p.m.

Teatime with Mommy
On Friday, May 17, we hosted the PreK and Kindergarten Mommy Teas in the Hacienda Courtyard. Students presented their moms with handmade gifts, cookies, and hugs. Everyone had a marvelous time. Thanks to everyone who made this a memorable event.

Creating Countries in Grade 3
On Thursday, May 23, from 10 to 11:30 a.m., the Grade 3 students will celebrate the original countries that they created for their International Create-a-Country project. This year's "destinations" include Aqualandea, Disco Island, Domain of Dragons, and more. The children are looking forward to sharing their creative presentations!

Mathletics Success
Fifteen students from Santa Catalina's Lower and Middle Schools competed in the Mathletics competition on Saturday, May 11. The Lower and Middle Schools garnered seven team awards and four individual honors.

Recently, in the school garden, Grade 2 learned about fresh produce and about sharing it with others.

Housing Help
We have a few faculty members and their families coming in over the summer who will be looking for affordable housing. We are extending this information to our community in hopes that some of you might have helpful recommendations. Summer at Santa Catalina
Summer at Santa Catalina is open to girls ages 8 to 14 who are entering grades 3 through 9 in the fall. We offer day and overnight camp programs in three sessions.
