    Open House Thank-You

    We offer sincere thanks to all of our Catalina families. We had a great turnout for our Open House on Tuesday, November 11, and many of the people in attendance were here because of you.

    Your referrals and help in getting the word out are much appreciated. Please mark your calendars for our next Open House on Monday, January 19.

    Pumpkin Olympics

    Despite the rain delay, this year's Pumpkin Olympics was a blast. Thanks to all the parents who helped with the event on Friday, November 14. Congratulations to the House of Service for its overall win and to grade 8 for winning the tug-of-war!

    Thanksgiving Vacation

    Dismissal for Thanksgiving vacation will be after the last class on Friday, November 21. Classes will resume on Tuesday, December 2. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

    Mock Orchestra Teaches Musical Lessons in Grade 3

    On Thursday, October 30, the third-graders performed Tubby the Tuba for parents and other special guests.

  • In her presentation to grades 7 and 8, Lori Getz spoke about practical ways to form new tech habits.

    Age-Appropriate Cyber Education

    On Monday, November 3, Lori Getz of Cyber Education Consultants came to campus to discuss digital citizenship and Internet safety. She held workshops for students in grades 4 through 8.

    Learning Across Generations

    On Monday, November 10, grade 8 students helped bridge the generation gap while visiting with 10 military veterans at the Park Lane senior living community.

    Stay Warm This Season

    Winter brings with it the need for hats, gloves, and scarves! During the winter months, please have your children bundle up so they can enjoy the outdoors.

    Students may come to school with these items and wear them before school, at break, during lunch, and after school.

    Catalina Christmas Events

    The holiday season is here, and there are lots of special events coming up, including the Parent Association Christmas Luncheon and the Christmas Concert.

    Christmas Concert Attire

    The 2014 Christmas Concert theme is Hansel and Gretel. Our fourth-graders will be the actors for the play, and they are the only ones who will require costumes. Everyone else should come in the concert attire.
