At Santa
Catalina, your roommate might be from Korea, your teammate from Germany, and
your best friend from Santa Barbara. Student life is a journey in discovering
the world around you, new faces, and new facets about yourself.
Through our diverse community and an amazing array of
activities and clubs, you can stretch your creative wings and forge friendships
that will last a lifetime. You may be writing editorials for our student
newspaper or choreographing hip-hop routines. You may want to arrange music for ecco, our student-run a capella group, take up surfing in the Monterey
Bay, or go on a hike at Point Lobos.
Our dorms are a warm and welcoming place to share
dreams, develop independence, and discover answers to some of life’s perplexing
questions such as how to manage a budget or how to compromise with a morning
person when you like to sleep in late on weekends.
About half of our faculty lives on campus to assist with
everything from study skills to field trips. There will be movie nights and
pizza parties. Other evening events might include student government meetings,
choir, dance, theater rehearsals, exercise, yoga, or library study.
Weekends afford plenty of time to explore the stunning Monterey
area, including the shopping malls, coffeehouses, beaches, and hiking trails of
Carmel and Big Sur, as well as trips to San Francisco.
