Visual Arts

Communication is more dependent on visual means than ever before. The success of communication is highly influenced by the level of informed observations, creative innovation, and intelligent responses to stimuli.

In the Visual Arts Department, our goal is to provide vital experiences that are essential for nurturing human mechanisms that facilitate the exchange of ideas between people.

Foundational courses have been designed to develop competence in the use of the elements of art and the principles of design, with a strong emphasis in drawing, and an introduction to various media. Advanced courses support a more aggressive pursuit of technical skill improvement that helps to enable the development of the student's ability to express herself, as well as an awareness and command of her visual language. In all classes, the encouragement of invention and discovery lead to greater creativity and a richer imagination.
