Robotics team makes strong debut in FIRST Robotics Competition

Santa Catalina's rookie robotics team, Nuns-N-Bolts, made a strong first impression on the FIRST Robotics circuit.

The 14-member team participated in two events in this year's competition: the Sacramento Regional at UC Davis from March 22-25 and the Silicon Valley Regional at San Jose State University from March 29-April 1.

In their debut in Sacramento, Nuns-N-Bolts finished in 10th place in a field of 56 teams, earning them the Highest Rookie Seed award. They made it to the quarterfinals, where they were the captains of their seventh-seed alliance.

In the more competitive San Jose meet, they ranked 14th out of 60 teams and earned the Safety FIRST award on Day 1.
