Santa Catalina students are in the habit of giving—service is part of the fabric of our school, after all. But their generosity is felt especially warmly during the holidays.
In lieu of gifts during the Kris Kringle tradition, many students opted to have their buddy donate to the Children's Fund service club instead. Their generosity, coupled with other donations this season, resulted in $475 going to the Children's Fund, which sponsors children in need of financial support around the world.
Students were also able to give a little extra by donating gently used clothing and other items to a homeless shelter in Salinas, as well as to four families from our service partner, the Family Resource Center. Those families also received brand new items thanks to a contribution from a Catalina family.
Thank you, girls, for these thoughtful gifts and your warmth of spirit this holiday season.
