Room to Grow

In a bright and airy classroom, Grade 1 students work on math problems at trapezoidal desks that have been arranged in circles. Next door, Grade 2 students are spread throughout the room, putting together puzzles in one corner, reading together in another, or at their desks observing mealworms for a science project. In Grade 3, students work on laptops arrayed in front of a row of tall windows overlooking the playground.

These are the scenes of young Cougars who have settled in quite nicely to their newly renovated classrooms. Read more

PreK Project of Passion

Every year, the PreK's "Project of Passion" benefits the SPCA for Monterey County. We are asking all Cougar families to help us collect aluminum cans, plastic bottles, old towels, and blankets now and throughout the school year. The SPCA recycles the cans and bottles, and the money is used to help offset the veterinary costs of sick and injured animals. The blankets and towels are used to help keep our furry friends cozy in their kennels until they are adopted. Please bring your donations to the PreK classroom at any time.

At the end of September, the class will deliver the items collected to date and take a tour of the SPCA's beautiful facilities. Thank you for helping us help the SPCA!

Santa Catalina FUNd Facts

This year's Santa Catalina Fund kicks off on Monday, October 2! Did you know:

  • Last year, eight Lower and Middle School classes reached 100 percent parent participation in the Santa Catalina Fund? With your gift, we can get a perfect 10 this year!
  • Making your pledge during the six-week Santa Catalina Fund means your gifts can begin working for our students earlier in the school year. Pledge now!
  • Last year, nearly 71 percent of gifts made to the Santa Catalina Fund were less than $500. These gifts accounted for almost $129,000.

Share One Word. Make One Gift. Often one word can tell a story. When you share your word and make your gift to the Santa Catalina Fund, your thoughtful participation has a direct and immediate impact on our students and faculty and makes a difference school-wide.

Thank you for your kind support!
