JDRF Walk A Success!

On Sunday, October 1, the Lower and Middle School joined together to participate in the JDRF One Walk at Lovers Point. Inspired by compelling stories shared by Catalina alumnae and friends just weeks before the panel discussion, the LMS cougars demonstrated tremendous support. Teachers, students, and parents made generous online donations on the "Cougars Care" team, and others brought in donations to the classrooms and Lower and Middle School office. Read more

PreK Project of Passion

Every year, the PreK's "Project of Passion" benefits the SPCA for Monterey County. We are asking all Cougar families to help us collect aluminum cans, plastic bottles, old towels, and blankets now and throughout the school year. The SPCA recycles the cans and bottles, and the money is used to help offset the veterinary costs of sick and injured animals. The blankets and towels are used to help keep our furry friends cozy in their kennels until they are adopted. Please bring your donations to the PreK classroom at any time.

At the end of the month, the class will deliver the items collected to date and take a tour of the SPCA's beautiful facilities. Thank you for helping us help the SPCA!

Annual Fund Officially Underway

This year's Santa Catalina Fund is officially underway!

One Word. It's simple. Often, one word can tell a story. Share one word that describes what Santa Catalina School means to you.

One Gift. It's simple. Make one gift to the Santa Catalina Fund in honor of what Santa Catalina Lower and Middle School means to you. Just one gift can make a difference and give our students the chance to write their own Santa Catalina story.

We hope to reach 100 percent parent participation by the conclusion of the Santa Catalina Fund on Friday, November 10, 2017. Last year, Lower and Middle School had eight classes reach 100 percent parent participation. With your gift, we can reach a perfect 10!

Don't forget, the first class to reach 100 percent participation receives free dress for one week. Thank you for your kind support!

Annual Benefit Celebration

The Benefit Celebration Committee is excited to announce this year's event will take place on Saturday, March 10, 2018. The planning has begun, and all parents are encouraged to come together to build community spirit and help plan a fabulous event that all will enjoy. Our focus this year will be "community conservation," inspired by our many student and school-driven initiatives.

We highly encourage and humbly ask for parent volunteers to help us in our efforts by serving on various committees. The Benefit Celebration kickoff meeting is on Tuesday, October 10, at 8:00 a.m. in the Upper School Dining Room. No one will be turned away—there is a job for everyone!

We understand that not everyone can commit to volunteering on a committee. In this case, please consider offering any potential contacts or items for our live, silent, and fine wine auctions. Creative and fun ideas for hosted Count-Me-In parties are most welcome and highly encouraged as well.

Please contact Sabrina Taylor, Benefit Celebration co-chair, at 831.332.4971 or sabrinataylor19@gmail.com if you have any questions.
