Libraries

The Santa Catalina School library's mission is to foster an appreciation of literature and to encourage students to reach their full potential as informed citizens of the world and responsible users and creators of information and ideas.

Library staff is available to provide assistance and instruction and is happy to help students and teachers do research and find good books to read.


Lower School Library

Students in PreK to Grade 5 use this library, affectionately known as the Treehouse, for classes and events—including the always popular Pajama Story Night. The collection includes 5,000 volumes of books, periodicals, audiobooks, and DVDs. With computers, a fireplace, lounge area, and plenty of natural light, the Lower School Library is a cozy place to read and learn.

Sister Mary Kieran Memorial Library

This library, used by middle school students, contains a collection of more than 15,000 volumes. There is an extensive collection of nonfiction and fiction books, reference materials, two student printers, spaces for individual study, joint study areas, lounge areas, and five private tutoring rooms. The library also subscribes to a number of academic journals for student research.
