In the Lower School, students use the Teacher’s Curriculum Institute (TCI) program for Social Studies. They begin the exploration of culture and history by studying themselves, their families, and their communities. Our children gain a perspective on the diversity of a constantly changing world. The program weaves knowledge, skills, and citizenship to for an integrated whole.
Middle School social studies also uses the TCI program. Middle School social studies begins with the study of ancient civilizations and concludes with United States history. Students learn to understand their place in the world. The program emphasizes note taking, study and test taking skills, essay writing, geography skills, critical thinking, and collaboration.
