I have a passion for living a healthy and active lifestyle every day. I love to teach what this looks like to a variety of students at different age levels. This foundation can help them live a happy and healthy life for years to come.

Coach Holmgren joined Catalina’s Lower and Middle School P.E. team in 2022, though he is no stranger to Catalina: He coached JV volleyball in the Upper School for three years. He now serves as varsity head coach. He previously taught kinesiology at Gavilan College, where he also was head coach for the women’s indoor and beach volleyball teams. In addition, he is the director of the California Beach Volleyball Association’s Monterey Bay location. The San Diego native loves to be outside, whether hiking, backpacking, surfing, fly fishing, or, of course, playing beach volleyball.
