Spanish is my mother tongue and Spain is my home country. Both the language and the Spanish culture are very dear to my heart, and I love sharing both with my students.

Ms. Canteli, a native of Madrid, has taught at Santa Catalina since 2006. Her husband, Anthony, is from South Africa and is a mechanical engineering professor at Monterey’s Naval Postgraduate School, and her daughter, Aurora, is a student at Catalina. The family enjoys taking hikes and spending time on the beach. Ms. Canteli loves the camaraderie among the Lower and Middle School teachers and enjoys that small class sizes give them an opportunity to really get to know the students and support them in their learning. One of her biggest goals is to help others not be afraid to speak a different language and to open their eyes to other cultures and ways of living.
