Back on campus, sixth-graders form 'Banana Slug Society'

Santa Catalina Lower and Middle School sixth-graders returned to campus on January 19. For health and safety, the class was split into two cohorts, yellow and blue—and the yellow cohort went all in.

In honor of the color, the students created a "Banana Slug Society." They made a flag and came up with different jobs for each other, including president, treasurer, judge, policeman, and ball keeper/artist. There's even a sports announcer who reads off some sports news every day.

Though the students are still receiving instruction via Zoom, their creativity and excitement shows why it is important for them to be together again in person.
