"I love guiding girls to learn to fail well, access their internal self-worth, and feel confident and empowered in their bodies."

Ange became director of Summer at Santa Catalina in 2019. She has spent more than a decade empowering girls in a summer camp setting, including as founding director of Camp Lantern Creek, an all-girls sleepaway camp in her home state of Texas. She is also a facilitator and trainer for the Embody Love Movement, which empowers girls and women to celebrate their inner beauty through experiential learning around body image and self-love.

Ange is a registered yoga teacher and Reiki practitioner, and often hosts women’s empowerment circles focused on spirituality, personal development, and self-care. She loves hiking, exploring national parks, and doing anything beach-related. A member of Santa Catalina School's resident faculty, she lives on campus with her lab mix, Dottie.

Marisa Flores, Assistant Director

“Summer camp allows each of us to tap into whimsy, lean into community, and revel in the small moments that become our great adventures.”

Marisa joined Catalina in early 2020. She brings with her over a decade of experience supporting youth through summer camp and experiential learning across a variety of spaces, including camp, ministry, sports, and academic settings.

She earned a B.A. in human development and family studies from Texas Tech University, a Post Bacc in elementary education from Lubbock Christian University, and an M.Ed. in community development from Vanderbilt University. She enjoys playing volleyball, exploring nature, and traveling to new places. Marisa regularly leads coaching and training sessions around diversity and inclusion, and is committed to antiracist education, inclusive practices, and supporting positive, intentional youth communities. She lives on campus with her dog Paisley as a resident faculty member for Thompson Dorm.

Summer Camp Counselors

We have rockstar young women who mentor and guide our campers throughout their stay at camp. Our day and resident camp counselors are a diverse group of positive role models who facilitate play and inclusive community living. Our summer camp counselors are the special ingredient to making that camp magic happen.
