What We Do

Vision Statement

Summer at Santa Catalina is dedicated to the physical, social, and spiritual growth of girls. Our summer camp program strives to nurture girls as they begin to build their independence and self-reliance. We aim to help campers develop the virtues of honesty, kindness, and respect for others. Our goal is that campers receive and contribute to the support of a caring community and leave camp with greater self-confidence, eager to be contributing members of their own communities.

Summer at Santa Catalina promises to be an unforgettable adventure where girls connect as part of a community, explore their talents, build their self-confidence, and create lifelong friendships.

Our philosophy is that every moment and interaction is a chance to work with campers deeply and on an interpersonal level. We foster social skills and team building through cooperation and communication. The smallest moment can be the most life changing and memorable. Patience, tolerance, and “working it out” happen here.

We also understand that girls learn through doing. In our classes, campers experiment with ideas, develop new skills, and practice problem solving. In this environment, girls take big steps toward being more confident, independent, and self-reliant. We have a culture in which trying new things and stretching yourself is the norm. It’s not about being the best. It’s about being courageous and being comfortable working alone or as part of a team.

Summer at Santa Catalina values the all-girls environment and unique relationships created during summer. Sisterhood is powerful and we want all of our summer friends to feel they have found it here and take that out into the world. We grow great girls here and we have a ton of fun in the process!
