Where We Are

Summer at Santa Catalina is held on the campus of Santa Catalina School in Monterey, California. The campus comprises 36 acres of traditional and modern buildings that house spaces for learning, living, and playing. Girls explore their interests in our performing arts center, art studios, classrooms, athletic field, pool, and gym. Our flowering gardens and vegetable patch are amazing and inspire the artist, author, and chef in all of us. The dorms are full of life and spontaneity with campers and counselors alike contributing to the making of summer memories.

Santa Catalina's location on the central coast of California gives campers access to a wonderful array of activities not found anywhere else. We are a short walk from downtown Monterey and not far from Carmel-by-the-Sea. Our programming takes advantage of the beautiful areas surrounding us. Whether in class or on the weekends, campers explore the Monterey Peninsula. We observe fish and other underwater creatures at the Monterey Bay Aquarium and enjoy the barking seals playing on the beach. Campers master their golf swings at nearby Pebble Beach Golf Course and hone their riding skills and horsemanship at the Pebble Beach Equestrian Center. We hike dusty trails and dip our toes in cold creeks in Carmel Valley’s Garland Park. There are shops to visit and food to sample at the local farmer’s market on Tuesdays. We love to light a big campfire on campus or the beach; as long as we have each other, fun songs to sing, and s’mores to eat, we are happy.
