Excellence, one of our school’s core values, is lived out every day on our campus. In every area of study, students are pushing themselves to achieve. With the support of teachers, the guidance of advisors, and access to a wealth of information and resources, girls make the most of their education. They work within a challenging curriculum, complete with specialized learning spaces across campus and the technology needed to keep them in step with a constantly shifting world.
I love the way my entire class takes part in discussing books. I learn so much by the way the teachers guide the conversations. They encourage us to be bold in our opinions.
~Lucy, Day Student from Monterey, California
At Santa Catalina, the classroom has no confines. Learning happens on the sprawling front lawn, in the art studio, in the dining room, on the athletic field, in the dorms, and on the beaches of the Monterey Bay. Monterey itself is a rich learning space, and we take advantage of what the area has to offer, such as the Middlebury Institute of International Studies and the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute.
Santa Catalina classrooms buzz with energy. Highly qualified, dedicated teachers bring lessons to life for students who are eager to learn. Our student-faculty ratio is 8:1, and the average class size is 12, so girls can engage meaningfully with their teachers and get plenty of individualized attention.
