THE ARTS

With professional instructors, state-of-the-art performance and rehearsal facilities, and extensive course offerings, students have the opportunity to achieve local and national recognition through performances, exhibitions, and competitions. Santa Catalina provides performing and visual art instruction that informs, enlightens, and prepares students for many creative opportunities in the 21st century.

Recent highlights include a student art and photography exhibit, a full-scale musical production of Mary Poppins with flying effects by ZFX Effects, and the Central Coast premieres of The Mystery of Edwin Drood and The Drowsy Chaperone.

After graduation, many students pursue higher education in the arts, and some go on to become professionals. In addition to being fun and exciting, our arts program instills a deeper understanding of the human condition through a variety of artistic expressions.

Until I was in my first show at Santa Catalina, I didn't realize how close a community the theatre group is. You're making this big art project together. It's amazing how all the different parts turn into one show.
