SAT (SAT, ACT, and SAT Subject tests)

  • Register online at collegeboard.com and print admission document.
  • Paper registration forms are available in the college resource room. An admission ticket will be sent through the mail.
  • Register early to avoid late charges and reserve first-choice test centers.
  • Include the Santa Catalina school code 052045 so that the school receives a copy of the report.
  • The primary test center is Seaside High School, center code 05-798. A bus will be arranged for all boarding students. Alternate test centers might be more convenient for day students.
  • Always check admission document for accuracy.
  • Freshman-1st Semester Juniors: We recommend that ONLY if you are enrolled (and doing well) in an Honors or AP that has a corresponding SAT Subject Test that you take it. We do not recommend taking an SAT Reasoning or ACT test before the 2nd semester of the Junior year.

What to bring on test day

  • Picture ID (Santa Catalina School ID, driver’s license, or passport)
  • Two No. 2 pencils and a good eraser
  • Acceptable calculator with fresh batteries
  • For Language Listening Subject Test in November only: an acceptable CD player with headphones
  • Check websites for more details

Note: Nonstandard testing arrangements (such as extra time) are made through the Santa Catalina School Office prior to the registration deadline.

Financial Aid for College

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Register online at fafsa.ed.gov.
  • Submit between October 1 and each college’s deadline (typically in February).
Profile
  • Financial aid form required by many colleges.
  • List of colleges using PROFILE and the online form can be found here.
  • Colleges may use this form for early-decision applications.
  • Visit each college’s website for deadlines.
Cal Grant GPA Verification
  • The Cal Grant program is for California residents attending an in-state college.
  • Application automatically takes information from the FAFSA.
  • Form is available from the Registrar's office in January and February.
  • Submission deadline is March 2.
