Study Hall Stories: Hannah '25

Study Hall Stories: Hannah '25
By Sofia '25

Study Hall is the central gathering place for students at Santa Catalina School, where we gather for morning assemblies, relax or study between classes, and hang out with friends. In Study Hall Stories, we choose a random desk and interview that student on their favorite things about Catalina.

Hannah '25 is a junior day student from Salinas, California. She likes to play tennis in the fall and spend time with her dog, Bugsy!

Q: What is your favorite part about being a day student at Catalina?
A: My favorite part about being a day student is having all of the freedoms of being a day student like driving myself places and going home to my dog, and also getting to meet people from all over the world and hang out with boarder friends.

Q: What do you like best about being at an all-girls school?
A: It is definitely way cleaner than a co-ed school. It is also not as noisy and we get a lot done during class. I remember in middle school boys would always mess around, but it's definitely easier to focus here. Everyone is more serious, but we still have a lot of fun at the same time!

Q: Which unconventional food do you think would make a good ice cream flavor?
A: Pickles because pickle-lovers would love it. It would be sweet pickles obviously with a green color, filled with pickle chunks, and seeds as the sprinkles. Rice ice cream could be so good too because it's so versatile and bland that you could eat it with any ice cream flavor and it would be delicious. And if you get tired of eating rice, you could spice things up with rice ice cream!
