Study Hall Stories: Leah '24

Study Hall is the central gathering place for students at Santa Catalina School, where we gather for morning assemblies, relax or study between classes, and hang out with friends. In Study Hall Stories, we choose a random desk and interview that student on their favorite things about Catalina.

Leah '24 is a senior day student from Carmel, California. She likes theatre and going out with friends.

Q: What’s your favorite class at Catalina, and what makes it special?
A: My favorite class is rehearsal and performance. It is so fun and unique because we get to produce our own show! I love how self-driven it is. It's also a really great way to get creative and learn about drama techniques and just being onstage. I also love how our teacher gives us so many snacks.

Q: What is the best part about being a senior at Catalina?
A: The best thing about being a senior is going off campus during the day. I like to go out to lunch with friends and grab coffee during my free periods, and sometimes I go home for a midday nap!

Q: Rank these three grocery stores and why you ranked them that way: Target, Whole Foods, and Trader Joe’s.
A: Target is #1 because it is the best spot for buying things for birthday desks, snack runs, skincare, etc., and I always find something nice there. Whole Foods is second because their food is so good. I really like their microwave burritos and hot food bar. Last is Trader Joe’s because it’s another great place to buy snacks like knock-off Takis, but I don’t go there as much as the other two.
