Study Hall Stories: Shayna '24
Jeannie Evers

Study Hall is the central gathering place for students at Santa Catalina School, where we gather for morning assemblies, relax or study between classes, and hang out with friends. In Study Hall Stories, we choose a random desk and interview that student on their favorite things about Catalina.

Shayna '24 is a senior day student from Carmel, California, and her favorite thing to do in her free time is hang out with her dog.

Q: What do you enjoy most about being a senior?
A: A cool thing about being a senior is that everyone is more open to expanding their friend groups and I've been able to talk to people I haven't gotten the chance to in previous years. I would also say my attitude this year is more relaxed because I'm more focused on cherishing my last semester of high school and making memories and stressing less about academics.

Q: If you were to give advice to somebody applying here, what would it be?
A: Be prepared to work hard. But at the same time it's all about balance and making sure you take time to enjoy high school.

Q: If you were to live in the North Pole or the Australian Outback, where would you live and why?
A: I would rather live in the North Pole because my outfits would be cooler and I think it would be really cool to stand at the very top of a glacier. Also in the Outback, its way too hot and I would wear less cute clothes.
