Chris Haupt

Titles: Director of Student Life
Degrees: B.A., Santa Clara University

It is awesome to be able to talk with young people about big questions—who am I and what’s my purpose?—and to discuss ethics, happiness, virtues, God. My students ask great questions and are always ready to challenge assumptions. I love it!

Mrs. Haupt has been with Santa Catalina since 1978, when she started as a grade 5 teacher. Over the next five years, she also taught math, English, and study skills. When she and her husband, John, got married and started raising a family of four, Mrs. Haupt took a hiatus from teaching. She returned in 2001, and currently teaches religion in grades 5-8. She is the recipient of Catalina’s Sister Carlotta Distinguished Service Award, and was named a Junior League of Monterey County Volunteer of the Year. Born in Kalamazoo, Michigan, and raised in San Mateo, she enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with friends and family—especially her four grandchildren.
