Faculty & Staff Profiles
Jessica Bangham
I have always known that I wanted to teach since I was a little girl. I was fortunate to find Santa Catalina as my second home and couldn't feel more blessed to be part of a wonderful community.
Ms. Bangham was born in the Philippines and came to America at the age of 2. She has spent most of her life in the Monterey Bay area, growing up in Watsonville and Salinas, attending the University of California, Santa Cruz, and living for a time in beautiful Big Sur. She and her husband recently moved to Marina to be closer to California State University, Monterey Bay, where she taught a math education class for the fall 2017 semester. Since joining Santa Catalina in 2014, she has taught a variety of subjects in grades 3-8. She currently teaches math in grades 5-8 and is a grade 6 advisor. She enjoys long runs, reading inspiring books, experimenting with new recipes, and learning new hobbies (usually crafty, but it changes every season). “I feel grateful everyday and know that any obstacle that comes my way is only an opportunity to learn more about myself and what's important in life,” she says. “I am constantly inspired by my students, colleagues, and supervisors to be a better teacher each year and am looking forward to the many years of teaching ahead of me.”
