Catalina’s varsity golf team secured a solid victory against Hollister High School at Ridgemark Golf Course with a final score of 242 to 263. The team showcased their skill and determination, outpacing their opponents by a margin of 21 strokes. Freshman Candy Liu led the charge for Catalina, finishing as the first-place medalist with an impressive score of 39. Candy’s performance set the tone for the team’s success. Anika Minami ’28 followed closely, securing second place with a strong score of 42, contributing significantly to the team’s overall victory. Nancy Ma ’26 rounded out the top performers with a fifth-place finish, posting a score of 48, which helped to solidify the team’s lead. With this victory, Catalina’s varsity golf team continues to build momentum for the rest of the season.
The varsity water polo team faced a tough challenge against Santa Cruz High School, ultimately falling short with a final score of 8-15. Despite the loss, Catalina’s players put forth a strong effort in a competitive match. Emme Adamski ’27 was a standout in goal, making an impressive 14 saves, helping to keep the team within reach throughout the game. Quinn Connolly ’26 was a force on both ends of the pool, leading the team with four goals and four steals. Allie Fieber ’25 made a significant impact with two goals, two assists, and one steal, contributing to both the offensive and defensive efforts. Georgia Morrison ’26 added two goals, two assists, and two steals, playing a key role in Catalina’s overall performance. Taylor Connolly ’28 provided solid defense with two steals. The team displayed strong coordination and resilience, bouncing back after dropping the first set to take the next three. Ansley Brosseau ’27 orchestrated the offense with 37 assists, setting up her teammates for success throughout the match. Aleasha Kalinski ’25 was dominant at the net, leading the team with 16 kills, delivering powerful spikes that kept Seaside on their heels. Evelyn Kim ’27 showcased her versatility with 10 digs and eight aces, providing critical defense and serving strength to help secure the win. Catalina’s victory over Seaside continues their strong performance this season as they look ahead to their next challenge.
