Santa Catalina School welcomed several new faculty and staff members for the 2023-24 school year.
Lily Chang joins the World Languages Department as a Chinese teacher. Mrs. Chang holds a B.A. in applied English and an M.A. in liberal arts and education from Southern Taiwan University of Technology. She has taught at North Peninsula Mandarin School, Pacific Grove Chinese School, and Berlitz.
Adrienne Harris ’98 joined Catalina in the middle of last school year as the Director of Alumnae/i and Parent Relations. She holds a BFA from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and spent more than two decades in New York City and Los Angeles working in the independent film industry.
Celia Lara joins the Visual Arts Department and will serve as a junior advisor. Ms. Lara holds a B.A. in biology and art from the University of Vermont and an MFA in photography from the San Francisco Art Institute. She has over 10 years of teaching experience, including at Cabrillo College in Santa Cruz, Monterey Peninsula College, and Pacific Grove High School. She also has taught art at Summer at Santa Catalina.
The admission office added two new staff members who also serve as resident faculty. LaToya Stallworth has a B.A. in psychology and an M.A. in educational leadership and administration from Argosy University Orange County, and an M.S. in educational leadership and administration from Pepperdine University. Originally from Mississippi, she comes to us from South Korea, where she worked for Chadwick International School for the past five years. Elle Zieser has a B.A. in Spanish language and literature from the University of San Diego and an M.Ed. in bilingual and multilingual education from Loyola Marymount University. She most recently worked in admission at Waterford School in Utah and has been an educational consultant, dean of students, and Spanish language and culture teacher.
Christine Westhoff is a new member of the resident faculty. She serves as the Director of Lower and Middle School Admission. She holds a B.S. in educational foundations from the University of Oregon, a master’s in elementary education from Loyola Marymount University, and a Leadership Academy administrative credential from the Rossier School at the University of Southern California. Most recently, she worked at St. Bede the Venerable School in La Cañada.
