A Santa Catalina School junior took first place in a regional art competition hosted by the Carl Cherry Center for the Arts in Carmel.
Sawyer ’25 won the 2024 Thinking Out Loud contest with her 3D model of milk being poured into a bowl of cereal. Her piece, along with artwork from 21 other Catalina students, will be on display at the art center through March 30. The range of media includes drawings, paintings, mixed media, digital media, and 3D art.
Thinking Out Loud challenges high school students to create works inspired by their lives. Each year, students from across Monterey County are invited to exhibit their artwork in the gallery.
