Santa Catalina School students kicked off their first week of school with energy and enthusiasm.
As students moved in, greeted friends, started classes, and got oriented, a hallmark of the Catalina experience was on full display: big sisters and little sisters.
In this tradition, seniors act as big sisters to incoming freshmen and other new students to help them adjust to life at school. In the first week, seniors decorated dorm rooms and helped new boarders move in; cheered the students’ arrival on campus; and packed their little sisters’ desks with their favorite treats. At the end of the first day, big sisters and little sisters hit the beach for a water balloon toss and other fun games. It was just the start of a relationship that gets deeper throughout the year.
