Students 'Nourish and Flourish' at Health and Well-being Day

Santa Catalina School’s annual Health and Well-being Day encouraged students to nourish their mind, body, and soul by learning something new, moving their bodies, and being in community.

The event, titled Nourish and Flourish, was organized by the student Health and Wellness Committee under the guidance of program director Allison McHenry. The day included morning workshops and an afternoon of games, dance, and relaxation.

After an optional beach walk to start the day, students had their pick of 11 morning sessions that offered a mix of movement, hands-on activities, and informative talks. Sessions included a boxing and self-defense class; flower crown, baking, and skin care workshops; a panel discussion about medical careers with local doctors; and presentations on personal finance and self-care.

In the afternoon, students were invited to spend time in the company of friends while crafting in the “Nourish Nook,” learning how to line dance, and playing games on the front lawn. The night before, students also had the chance to come together for s’mores in Greer Patio.

The day’s engaging sessions and diverse activities provided excellent learning opportunities for students to prioritize their health and well-being.
