Catalina chaplain wins regional Emmy for storytelling series

Santa Catalina School chaplain Fr. Mike Russo has won a regional Emmy award for his online and Cable TV program "Sunday to Sunday."

The show, which highlights the most gifted preachers in America, received the award for Outstanding Interview Program from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences' San Francisco/Northern California Chapter.

"We're thrilled about this honor from the Academy," Fr. Russo said. "It's truly a culmination of the hard work and support from many and a sign that our work is having an impact."

Fr. Russo, a Roman Catholic priest, is a former news producer and a retired professor at Saint Mary's College of California. He is starting his third year as chaplain at Santa Catalina; you can read his weekly homilies, delivered in Catalina's Rosary Chapel, on his blog The Francis Factor.
