Freestyle skier Brita Sigourney '08 is headed to her second Winter Olympics.
Sigourney won the Olympic qualifier in the women's halfpipe at Mammoth Mountain on January 19, just two days after celebrating her 28th birthday. She will compete at the PyeongChang Games on February 18-19. She also plans to walk in the Opening Ceremony on February 9.
At the 2014 Winter Games, she finished sixth overall in the freestyle halfpipe. She's also a three-time X Games medalist who landed the first 1080 in competition history.
Sigourney attended Santa Catalina as a day student from Carmel and was a member of the water polo and swim teams. In four years as a starter on the varsity water polo team, she scored 158 goals and had 252 assists.
