Santa Catalina School is happy to welcome five new faculty and staff members for the 2019-20 school year.

Zach VanHarn has joined our development team as the Director of Annual Giving and School Engagement. He has a B.A. in education from Northeastern State University and an M.S. in sports administration from the University of New Mexico. A former history teacher, he most recently served as director of advancement for the Santa Barbara Trust for Historic Preservation.
Helen Young, who came on board in the spring of 2019, has already settled in nicely as the Admission Office Coordinator. She has a B.A. in global studies with a socioeconomic and political emphasis from UC Santa Barbara, and an M.A. in international business and public policy from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey.
Ange Atkinson just wrapped up her first successful season as director of Summer at Santa Catalina. During the school year, she serves on the resident faculty. Atkinson holds a B.A. in anthropology from Trinity University, and has spent more than a decade empowering girls in a summer camp setting.
Beth Riley joins our faculty as a health teacher. She has more than 30 years of experience designing curriculum and teaching courses centered around physical fitness, health and well-being, and mindfulness. She has a B.A. in English literature from Colorado College and a Master of Education with dance specialization from Stanford University.
Stephanie Hill is the newest member of our admission team, serving as Associate Director of Admission. She is also a resident faculty member in Thompson Dorm. She grew up on a boarding school campus in Wisconsin, and worked at all-girls schools in Ohio and Maryland before coming to Monterey. She has a B.A. in Spanish with a minor in communications from Lake Forest College.
