Art 3 students are directing their skills toward a great cause, painting portraits of children in Haiti for The Memory Project.
The students will create the portraits based on full-page color photographs of the children, which were delivered on October 23. The finished portraits will then be delivered to the kids. It's the first time Santa Catalina has participated in The Memory Project.
Portraits are created for kids and teens around the world who have faced substantial challenges, such as neglect, abuse, loss of parents, violence, and extreme poverty. According to The Memory Project, "We want the portraits to help the children feel valued and important, to know that many people care about their well-being, and to act as meaningful pieces of personal history in the future."
