Report Card Assembly celebrates academics, character
Report Card Assembly celebrates academics, character

Santa Catalina held its annual Report Card Assembly on January 9, a longstanding tradition that honors students for their academic achievements in the first semester.

The school recognized those who made Honor Roll (62 students), handed out gold cords to students with the highest GPAs (69), and gave special pins to students at the very top of their class—and the school.

But perhaps the most celebrated honors of the day were the Courtesy Awards, which were given to a day and a boarding student from each class who were chosen for their generosity, kindness, and overall strength of character. These awards are special because they are based in part on a nomination by the students' peers.

Here are the Courtesy Award winners:

Freshman Courtesy Award

(Boarder) Angelia Shi
(Day) Sarah Sallee

Sophomore Courtesy Award

(Boarder) Claire Burrow
(Day) Candace Wong

Junior Courtesy Award

(Boarder) Molly Gilbert
(Day) Emily Hayes

Senior Courtesy Award

(Boarder) Orlinka Mitoko-Kereere
(Day) Danielle Young
