Step 1: Schedule a family interview and campus tour

During the family interview, you have a chance to meet the Head of Lower and Middle School to learn more about our curriculum and programming, and to ask questions specific to your child. The family interview is followed by a campus tour to see the classrooms in action. To schedule an appointment, call 831.655.9351.

Step 2: Submit an application with admission fee

The application form provides us with foundational knowledge of the student and family. The admission fee is $50 per child applying.

Step 3: Schedule a classroom visit

Your child will spend a day getting to know Santa Catalina, visiting the PreK classroom to make some friends and see what being a Cougar is all about. The application and admission fee must be on file prior to scheduling a classroom visit.

Step 4: Complete PreK screening

This is a brief assessment of your child’s gross motor and fine motor skills, language and concept development, and overall readiness for pre-kindergarten. This assessment is done during the classroom visit.

Step 5: Submit supplemental application materials by February 1

All application materials required for PreK—the family interview, parent questionnaire, and teacher recommendation—must be completed by February 1 to be considered in the first round of decisions. Applications submitted after February 1 will be considered as they become complete and are subject to space availability.
