Meet the Admission Team
I love to meet new families and introduce them to how life-changing
the Catalina experience can be.
Director of Admission, PreK-Grade 8
Ms. Hill became director of Lower and Middle School admission in fall 2021. She spent the previous seven years in independent school admission, including two years as associate director of admission in the Upper School. Her favorite part of her job is having the opportunity to be a part of a student’s life, from coaching first- to fifth-grade volleyball in Ohio to living and working with freshmen in the dorm at Santa Catalina. Most importantly, she enjoys sharing the value of a Catalina experience with families. Outside of work, she spends time hiking, gardening, and playing with her dog, Payton. She is a resident faculty member in Thompson Dorm.
Working to provide a Santa Catalina education for students who are motivated to learn, curious in nature, and compassionate citizens brings me great joy.
Director of External Affairs, PreK-Grade 8
Director of Financial Aid, PreK-Grade 12
Janet has worn many hats at Santa Catalina Lower and Middle School: parent volunteer, teacher, and director of PreK-8 admission and PreK-12 tuition assistance. Her son, Andrew, and daughter, Sarah, both went all the way through the school, from PreK–Grade 8; Sarah went on to graduate from the Upper School in 2008. Janet loves to travel, snow ski, and spend time with family. She enjoys making the admission process as smooth as possible for visiting families and seeing their reactions as they discover what’s beyond the front gate.
