Santa Catalina Lower and Middle School students put a lot of love into special Valentines for residents of a local senior living facility.
First graders visit the Park Lane on different holidays throughout the year to spread joy to the residents for their Project of Passion. This year, the young students were joined by their eighth grade Compass leaders to make Valentine’s Day cards. Working in pairs, the students took over the floor of the Assembly Room with construction paper, markers, glue, and scissors to make colorful creations for their Park Lane friends. The first graders came up with the vision for each card, and the eighth graders helped them execute it.
The project helped the eighth graders grow into their role as leaders and reinforced how service is as the center of the Compass program.
