Santa Catalina Lower and Middle School serves local boys and girls in PreK-Grade 8. Santa Catalina School is an all-girls boarding and day college preparatory school for students in Grades 9-12.

Faculty Openings
Substitute Teacher Responsibilities:
- Adhere to the curriculum and lesson plans assigned by the regular teacher.
- Follow procedures and achieve lesson goals.
- Assign and explain homework.
- Oversee students outside of the classroom, including at recess and lunch.
- Comply with all school regulations and policies at all times.
- Take attendance and document daily notes.
- Compile a report for the teacher for when he/she returns with updates on students.
Substitute Teacher Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Bachelor’s degree in teaching is preferred.
- We prefer candidates with 2 years experience in a similar role.
- Must be detail oriented and able to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Applications are being accepted for individuals interested in being a provider of academic tutoring in all subjects. We are especially interested in applicants who will be able to provide excellent tutoring support for students taking rigorous high school courses in:
- math (including AP Calculus)
- science (including AP Chemistry and Physics)

Staff Openings
Santa Catalina School seeks an experienced, passionate, enthusiastic, and dedicated full-time Director of Development to help lead the school. Closely collaborating with the Head of School, the next Director of Development has an extraordinary opportunity to join a high-functioning team. The Director is responsible for serving as the school’s chief relationship manager, fostering a culture of philanthropy within the school community, and setting the strategic direction for development. Reporting directly to the Head of School, the Director of Development is a member of the Leadership Team and works closely with the Head of School in supporting the work of the Board of Trustees. The position interacts with administrators, faculty, board members, parents, and students, and represents the school in the community and beyond.
Santa Catalina School seeks a limited part-time After-School Enrichment Program Assistant. The After-School Enrichment Program serves Santa Catalina Lower and Middle School students daily from August to June. Students build practical skills, gain confidence, and explore their interests while having fun in a safe and supportive environment.
The After-School Enrichment Program Assistant supervises and facilitates afternoon recess and snack time, provides support for homework time, and more for students in PreK–grade 3 (Study Buddies) or grades 4–8 (CASL). This position requires a positive role model who can build relationships with students and their families, lead various games, and oversee free play and activities.
The position hours are Monday–Friday, 3:00–5:30 p.m., during school calendar dates (September 5, 2025–May 27, 2026). These hours may vary depending on required training days and additional program offerings.
Santa Catalina School is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician to be a part of the facilities team. This full-time, non-exempt position reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor and is responsible for the day-to-day work related to the mechanical systems and structural elements of the classroom, residence, and community buildings on campus.
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep and repair of all buildings and systems on campus as part of the facilities team. The tech performs a variety of tasks including, but not limited to, plumbing maintenance, HVAC repairs, painting, carpentry, and general repairs and maintenance. Although the tech is not expected to be an expert in all areas, general knowledge of as many trades as possible is valuable. Duties also include routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and addressing immediate repair and event set-up needs. The day-to-day of this position is varied and physically demanding at times. Much of the work required for this position is performed outside in varying weather conditions. The tech is required to be on-call after hours on a rotational basis with other members of the facilities team.
Santa Catalina School is seeking a part-time Facilities Associate to be part of the maintenance team. This non-exempt position reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor and is responsible for assisting with event setup and breakdown as well as parking for large events on campus. This position is a great opportunity for someone who has a full-time job or is a full-time college student to supplement their income with evening/weekend work. Schedules vary week to week and are dependent on the event schedule of the school.
The Facilities Associate is responsible for assisting with the setup and breakdown needs for school events. This includes, but is not limited to, moving and setting tables, chairs, decorative items, kitchen/athletic equipment, and all items necessary for school events. This position assists with parking on campus, which includes directing traffic and ensuring that parking is safe and orderly. The work of this position is varied and physically demanding at times. Much of the work required for this position is performed outside in varying weather conditions in the evening and/or on weekends. Shifts are on an as needed basis and can be flexible to accommodate other jobs and/or school commitments.
Santa Catalina is seeking an Assistant Tennis Coach to assist with the varsity tennis program and team. Under the direction of the Athletic Director, the assistant coach assists with game management, supervision, and organization for the team and all players, abiding by school, league, and CIF rules and regulations. This position is responsible for coaching student-athletes in strategies and techniques to prepare them for athletic competition. The ideal candidate will motivate student-athletes to develop an appreciation for competition and their sport.
Santa Catalina is seeking an Assistant Varsity / Head JV Basketball Coach to assist with the varsity basketball program and lead the JV basketball program and team. Under the direction of the Athletic Director, the coach assists with game management, supervision, and organization for their team and all players, abiding by school, league, and CIF rules and regulations. This position is responsible for coaching student-athletes in strategies and techniques to prepare them for athletic competition. The ideal candidate will motivate student-athletes to develop an appreciation for competition and their sport.
