Junior brings Red Cross blood drive to campus

A Santa Catalina School junior organized a Red Cross blood drive on campus that drew mostly first-time donors.

The blood drive, organized by Yunah ’26, resulted in the donation of 23 units of blood that will go to patients in need. An impressive 90 percent of donors gave blood for the first time.

Yunah started planning for the blood drive in January, and recruited an army of student volunteers to help out with the event.

“I'm really happy and grateful for how many community members participated and the drive's success,” she said. “A special thank you goes out to our dedicated volunteers, whose hard work and enthusiasm ensured the event ran smoothly.”

Yunah hopes to bring the blood drive back next school year.
